Work Capsule Media Bridge

Single purpose

The extension connects the active browser media player to the locally installed Work Capsule application so the user can view the source and control playback, seek position, mute state, and that player’s volume.

Data handled

The extension may temporarily read playback state, media duration and position, volume, mute state, and the active site’s origin and display name. It does not send full page URLs, page titles, browsing history, form contents, passwords, screenshots, or account credentials.

Local processing

Data is sent only to Work Capsule on the same computer through a local loopback connection. The extension has no developer-operated analytics, advertising, tracking, cloud storage, or remote server. Data is not sold, shared with third parties, or used for purposes unrelated to media control.

Storage and retention

Media state is used in memory while the connection is active and is not retained by the extension after it is no longer needed. Work Capsule stores only the user’s application settings separately from browser media state.

Permissions

The extension needs scripting and website access to detect and control HTML audio and video elements on the page selected by the user. These permissions are used only for the extension’s stated media-control purpose.

Limited Use

Use of information received from Chrome APIs complies with the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
